This blog is for everyone who uses words.

The ordinary-sized words are for everyone, but the big ones are especially for children.

Thing To Do Today: be brave.

But what is brave?

Is it pushing aside someone smaller than you?

Is it lashing out because you're afraid?

Is it stealing things?

Is it making up excuses?

No.

Being brave is being honest (especially with yourself).

Being brave is standing with the meek against the mighty.

Being brave is being courteous, respectful, and kind.

I wish there were more brave people in the world.

And many fewer cowards.

Thing To Do Today: be brave. This word comes from the Italian bravo, courageous, and before that, perhaps, from the Latin barbarus, barbarous.

    1. Thanks, Jingles. Let's hope there prove to be enough of us in all the corners of the world to see off the bullies.

    1. Just think of yourself as an angel, Adele. (What's that thing about fools rushing in?)
